There is a small city in the northern Italy that has its hotels full of tourists year after year. It is the wonderful town of Como, situated at the foothills of the Alps and next to one most beautiful lakes in Europe. Plan for accommodation well before your trip, because Como is swarming with tourists regardless of season and hotels are hard to find. Its best asset is the wonderful landscape, but the city center has much to offer as well.

Churches dating back to the 14th century and even older, but also secular neoclassical buildings are waiting for visitors. Make sure you include in your trip the Tempio Voltiano, the ancient town hall of Broletto, the Como Cathedral, the church of Sant'Abbondio and of course Villa Olmo, where Napoleon stayed for a while.
